Tata Motors has announced an increase in the prices of some passenger vehicles and all of its commercial vehicles. The increase is effective from 1st January, 2011. The price increase in passenger cars is on the Tata Indica and the Tata Indigo family, in the approximate range of Rs. 3,000/- to Rs. 15,000/-, depending upon the model. In utility vehicles, the price increase is on Tata Sumo, Tata Grande MK II, Tata Safari and Tata Xenon in the range of Rs. 8,700/- to Rs.14,500/-. The price increase in commercial vehicle is in the range of Rs. 1,500/- to Rs. 30,000/- and is being done in the light of increase in input costs.
